Glastonbury sits on the edge of the Somerset Levels, a flat area cross crossed by drainage channels, and the River Brue. The the north are the Mendip Hills. The the south west are the Quantock Hills and further down, Exmoor. On a clear day from the Tor you can see as far as the hills of South Wales across the Bristol Channel.
These photos were taken on a walk I did over Wearyall Hill, along the River Brue and back into Glastonbury along the Butleigh Road which comes out near the Abbey Barn rural life museum. Taken Oct 2002, and it looks as if we may have had a dry summer as everything looks a bit parched.

L-R- 1- Wick Hollow, 2- Chalice Hill, 3,4,5- Brent Knoll from the Tor, 6,7,8- Stone Down from the Tor.
Burrow Mump is about 12 miles from Glastonbury. It is like a mini Tor, except that it is more of a conical hill than an elongated one like the Tor. It has a ruined church on top, in fact the church was never finished. I have only been there twice, these were taken in Feb. 2008. You can see the Tor from Burrow Mump, but it is much harder to spot Burrow Mump from the Tor. You do get a good view of it from the railway line to the east of Taunton.
